14 arrested in Tondo school MNLF members claim

Authorities arrested the 14 men  for entering a school in Tondo, Manila During  Election Day claiming they are members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).

According to Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim said no less than MNLF founder and leader Nur Misuari said  that the 14 men, who entered Rosauro Almario Elementary School, are his men.

Lim added he went to Manila Police District Station 2 immediately after knowing  that the 14 were allegedly MNLF members and called up Misuari to check the report.

The mayor said that  Misuari claimed the 14 came from Lanao and Davao and had just arrived in Manila on Sunday “to get money for an obligation in Mindanao.”

The MNLF chief said the group got money from friends in the Muslim community in Quiapo.

Authorities said  that the 14 were carrying four firearms and nearly P300,000 in cash at the time of the arrest. There were no resistance to check their vehicle.

Meanwhile, the Manila mayor has ordered investigation against the 14 for breaking the election gun ban law  and  also for illegal possession of firearms.
